Introduction
It is with great pleasure to offer San Diego balboa classes at the Infinity Dance Studio. Spend the evening learning balboa, then take it with you to a live band night, a bar, or to the next wedding dance! The floating slick dance floors and private space will provide a cozy environment to help get you friends a good night of dancing!

Location: Infinity Dance Studio 7243 Engineer Rd Ste B, San Diego, CA 92111
Time: Thursdays 6:00PM – 8:00PM, one hour each.
Cost: $15 per class, prepaid monthly classes also available!
Classes Offered: Beginner Progressive and Intermediate Drop In Classes
Instructor: Gordon Dang and Terese Farmen
Note: No partner required. Class curriculum starts at the beginning of the month with a different theme. It is encouraged to attend the first two weeks to keep up with new class material. Make ups are encouraged during weekly office hours/guided practice (Thursdays 7-8:30PM at Infinity Dance Studio). Cost of lessons includes practice time for the rest of the evening.
Prerequisites
Beginner: None!
Intermediate: You should have some understanding of uphold and downhold basics, come arounds and one type of ad-lib step like paddle turns, shuffles, scoots, etc. You should also be familiar getting in and out of Lolly kicks, Toss-outs, and Out and Ins from closed or open position. This is covered over 8 – 10 progressive beginner lessons or 10 – 12 drop-in lessons, supplemented with several hours of social dancing or guided practices. Your consideration into the intermediate class is also based on instructor recommendation.

Curriculum and Student Goals
Beginner students will be developing basic fundamentals, emphasizing partnership during the social dance floor. You will also be focusing on basic shapes and movements unique to balboa.
Intermediate students will be developing leading and following techniques used on the social dance floor. They will be refining their pure balboa and bal-swing variations and building upon complex ideas (curriculum below). We also instill you the confidence to tackle faster songs, competitions, auditions, and dancing with both advanced and beginner level dancers. As instructors, our goal is to provide you the space to develop into wonderful confident dancers.
